Bio
Bernice Malesker, age 76. Born in West Point, Iowa, Bernice attended schools in Iowa and Nebraska, graduating in 1956 from Nelson High School in Nelson, Nebraska. In 1957 she went to work for HHS in Hastings, Nebraska (known then as Adams County Welfare Office). Bernice married Darryl Malesker at St Cecilia Catholic Church in Hastings on June 10, 1961. In 1962 she left her job at HHS to raise her family, then returned to HHS in 1982, retiring in 2000. She and Darryl moved to Omaha in 2002. Bernice enjoyed anything that featured birds or butterflies. Animals, especially dogs, were dear to her heart. Her favorite pastimes were watching old movies on television and reading. Bernice was preceded in death by a son, Brad; parents, Bruno and Mary Kimminau; brothers, Arthur and Adrian Kimminau. She is survived by her husband, Darryl Malesker; sons: Mark Malesker (Karla) and Craig Malesker, both of Omaha, Brian Malesker (Claudia) of Longmont, Colorado, and Steven Malesker (Louisa) of Dallastown, Pennsylvannia; seven grandchildren; sister, Darlene Hotz (Clarence) of Hastings, Nebraska.
