Hastings resident Darlene E. Hotz, 87, got her angel wings Monday, December 17, 2018, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE. Rosary is 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, at Butler Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 27, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Hastings with Father Jeremy Hazuka officiating. Burial will be held at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Darlene was born October 24, 1931, in West Point, IA to Bruno & Mary (Halbmaier) Kimminau. She graduated in 1950 from West Point High School in West Point, IA. Darlene moved to Mount Clare, NE where she worked at her dad’s grocery store until she moved to Hastings, NE and worked at Sunny Side and Mary Lanning Hospital in the kitchen until 1971 when her daughter was born. She married Clarence on August 15, 1970, at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Hastings. Darlene was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and Altar Society. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Art Kimminau and Adrian Kimminau; sister, Bernice Malesker; and nephew, Brad Malesker. SURVIVORS: Husband: Clarence Hotz – Hastings, NE Daughter: Mary Lou & Shane Lauenstein – Hastings, NE Grandchildren: Hollye Lauenstein Megan Lauenstein Joseph Lauenstein Great-Grandchild: Zoe Lauenstein Sister-in-law: Joan Kimminau – Hastings, NE Brother-in-law: Darryl Malesker – Omaha, NE Nieces, nephews & numerous cousins
