'''''''''''''' Brainard Clipper (Brainard, Nebr.), February 23, 1928,p. 4, col. 3 Mrs. John Rech Dead Mrs. John Rech passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Rejda, southwest of Brainard, last Thursday evening, Feb. 16, about 9 o'clock. Her death was due to cancer from which she had suffered for about a year past. For the past several months she had been cared for at the home of her daughter. She was nearly 83 years of age. Marie Doubrova was born in Zakratka, Czechoslovakia on April 5, 1846. She came to America with her parents while still a young girl and they located in Cleveland. There she was united in marriage, 1870, to John Rech and they continued to reside there for about 10 years. They then came to Nebraska and located on a farm in this vicinity. In 1914 they retired from farm life and moved to Brainard where they have since resided. They were the parents of seven children, five of whom are living. One daughter died in childhood and a son, John, died about 16 years ago from the effects of a lightning stroke. The living children James, Edward, Joseph and Charles Rech and Mrs. Mary Rejda all residing in this community. Mr. Rech also survives his wife. Funeral services were held at Holy Trinity Catholic church Saturday morning at 10 o'clock, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Klein officiating. Burial was in the Brainard Catholic cemetery.
