Bio

Born in the village of Radnice, town of Rokycany, county of Plzen, Bohemia, Austrian Empire (now in the Czech Republic), the son of James and Barbora (Herman) Rech. Settled in Butler County, Nebr. in 1877. ''''''''''''''''' Brainard Clipper (Brainard, Nebr.), February 20, 1930, p. 1, col. 5 John Rech Sr. John Rech Sr. died at his home in this city, last Friday night. He had apparently been in good health the day previous, having been at the home of his son, James about 5 o'clock in the afternoon, but he passed away in his sleep during the night. As he lived alone this fact was not discovered until Saturday afternoon when James went to his father's home. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the Holy Trinity church and burial was in the Catholic cemetery. Mr. Rech was born in Czechoslovakia Sept. 8, 1849. Coming to America as a young man he was united in marriage to Maria Doubrova at Cleveland, Ohio, in 1870. There they resided for 10 years then came to Nebraska locating on a farm in this vicinity where they have since resided. They retired farm life in 1914 and Mrs. Rech departed this life two years ago. Mr. Rech is survived by four sons, James, Edward, Joseph,, and Charles and one daughter, Mrs. Mary Rejda, all of this county.
