According to his probate file he died March 11, 1913 and was survived by his widow Antonia (age 58 years) of Brainard; daughter Mary Styskal (29 years) of Loma, Nebr.; and daughter Andela Smahel (26 years) of Brainard. The probate file also mentions two stepsons: Alois Ruzicka and John Dusel.
