Emigrated to the United States on the Dresden , which left Bremen, Germany on September 3, 1896 and arrived in Baltimore, Maryland on September 15. The passenger list includes Antonie Smahel (age 40, nationality Bohemia, last residence Ivancice, final destination Omaha), Marie (11), and Angela (10). 1900 census (Oak Creek, Butler County, Nebr.): Albert Smahet (April 1850, Bohemia, immigrated 1896) and Antoinette (wife, June 1858, Bohemia, immigrated 1896, married 20 years, mother of four children, two living).
