Bio
Funeral services were Monday for Mary A. Blaha who died October 4, 1978 at the Valley County Hospital in Ord. She was 80. Rev. Stanley Gorak officiated at the 10 a.m. rites at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord. Mrs Elsie Furtak was the organist and Mrs. Judy Dughman was the soloist. Pallbearers were George Krurnl, Paul Penas, Leonard Vech, Richard Blaha, Stanley Skalka and Walter Smith. Burial was in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. Mrs. Blaha was born July 16, 1893 at Ord, the daughter of Louis and Mary Holoun Penas Sr. Her early life was spent in Ord, where she attended school. She was united in marriage to Joseph James Blaha April 13, 1920 at Ord. They made their home on a farm east of Ord until 1960 when they retired and moved to town. Mary had been a resident of the Valley County Nursing Home for the past 3 1/2 years. She was a member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord and the Altar Society. Survivors include one son, Eldon of LaCrescenta, CA; one daughter, Mrs Adeline Adamek of Ord, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren,one brother Will Penas of Ord and one sister Mrs Ann Bazant of Lebanon OR. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Joseph in 1966 and two brothers. "The Ord Quiz" - Oct 12 1978
