ORD - Adeline M. Adamek, 88, of Ord died on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Valley View Living Center in Ord. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord. The Revs. Tom Ryan and Mark Maresh will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Adamek was born on April 23, 1924, at Ord to Joe and Mary (Penas) Blaha. She married L. Paul Adamek on May 17, 1949. He died in 1975. Survivors of the immediate family include a brother, Eldon Blaha of California. Also surviving are three nephews, a niece and many cousins. She attended rural school near Ord and graduated from Ericson High School in 1942. After graduation, she worked at a government office in Omaha for four years and then returned to Ericson. After her husband's death, Adeline continued to work at several businesses in Ord and retired in 1986. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Altar Society and Ord Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a special friend, Neal Utterback. Published in The Grand Island Independent on November 24, 2012
