The Brainard Clipper (Brainard, Nebr.), May 3, 1917, p. 8, col. 3 Miss Hilda Fleming, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Fleming, living southwest of Bruno, died Thursday, April 26, 1917, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Joseph Shonka, in Dwight, after an illness of about two weeks, from rheumatism of the heart. Miss Fleming had been at the home of her sister, helping her sew, for a few weeks, when she was taken with rheumatism, causing pains in her arms and body for a couple of days and then settled to her heart, from which she was taken seriously ill and never recovered, being confined to her bed two weeks. Remains were brought home for interment. Funeral services were held in the Catholic church in Bruno, Sunday conducted by Rev. Father Zalud. The body was taken to Bruno for burial after mass was said here. On account of bad weather the funeral was postponed till Sunday afternoon. A large number of people from Dwight attended the funeral. ______ p. 7, col. 3 & 4 Bruno Miss Hilda Fleming died at the home of her sister in Dwight last week. She was ill for a week. The funeral was Sunday afternoon. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery.
