MRS. MARY PHILLIPS Mrs. Mary E. Phillips, 83, of 1412 Mimosa, died 10 a.m. Friday in a local hospital after a short illness. Mrs. Phillips, a native of Victoria County, was born June 9, 1897. She had been a housewife and was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Phillips, who died November 1973. Rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Saturday at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael O'Shaunessy officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Kneblick, W. T. Kneblick, Lupe Hernandez, Woodrow Wagner, Louis Wagner and Richard Timme. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Pauline Fontenot of Minden, La.; three sons, William P. Phillips of Columbus, Harry L. Phillips of Freer and Robert L. Phillips of Beeville; three sisters, Mrs. Lou Wagner of Victoria, Mrs. John Zimbelli of Victoria and Mrs. Lenny Gasch of Victoria; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
