Brown Funeral Home (Martinsburg WV) Obituary: Margaret Faye Spacek, 88, of Martinsburg, West Virginia passed away on September 28, 2012, after a period of declining health. Margaret, known affectionately to her family as "Bobbie" or "Bob", was born on January 23, 1924, the daughter of Louis Dillard and Mamie (Robinson) Buchanan of Gonzales, Texas. On May 8, 1942 Margaret eloped to marry her high school sweetheart Frank J. (F.J.) Spacek, Jr. while he was a student at Texas A&M in College Station, Texas. They remained sweethearts throughout their married life, celebrating their seventieth wedding anniversary in May 2012. While F.J. (Colonel, U.S. Army, Ret. ) served 28 years in the Army, Margaret supported his career by being a meticulous homemaker, avid flower gardener, occasional gourmet cook, and very active in the Officers Wives Club at multiple duty stations throughout the United States, Panama, Costa Rica, and Heidelberg, Germany. They made their home at Chesapeake Beach, Maryland following F.J.'s retirement. After moving to Martinsburg in 1987, Margaret was an active member of Calvary United Methodist Church, and volunteered in the Berkeley County Senior Center, providing manicures for the Center's participants. In addition to her husband, their son, Frank J. Spack, III (wife Janie), of Winchester, Virginia, survives her. Also surviving are grandson Patrick J. Spacek of Jacksonville, Florida, granddaughter Kristina Spacek-Spivey (husband Scott) of Church Road, Virginia , and grandchildren's mother Patty Spacek of Prince George, Virginia. The Family would like to thank the many friends and neighbors who visited Margaret and assisted the family in multiple ways during her illness. Family and friend visitation to he held Monday, October 1, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM with funeral services on Tuesday October 2, 2012 at 2:30 PM at Brown Funeral Home, followed by internment at Pleasant View Memory Gardens. Services conducted by Reverend Al Clipp, Susie Kinn Vocalist. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Calvary Window Renovation Project, 220 W. Burke Street, Martinsburg, WV 25401
