Bio
Frank Joe Spacek, III, of Winchester VA, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the VA Center in Martinsburg WV, under the care of Hospice. Born May 12, 1946, in Gonzales, TX, he was the son of the late Col. (RET) Frank Joe Spacek, Jr., and Margaret Faye Spacek (Buchanan). Frank served as a Captain in the US Army, valiantly serving in Vietnam from 1967-1968 with the 11th Armored Cavalry and the MAC-V advisors resulting in two Bronze Stars with the V device, two Purple hearts, and the Republic of VietNam Gallantry Cross. He is survived by his wife Janie and her sons Scott and Jamie, his son Patrick Spacek, of Jacksonville, FL, daughter, Kristina Spacek-Spivey, and husband Scott of Church Road, VA., one grandchild, Tohrin Spivey, and caregiver Cherie Cave. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023, 2:00 p.m.at the Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held on January 23, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia Court House, VA.
