S.J. Shotkoski Dies: Services in Ord Saturday Funeral services for Sylvester J. Shotkoski, were held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help church in Ord, Saturday. Mr. Shotkoski died Feb. 20 at a North Platte hospital following an illness of one month. He was 56 years old. Father Ronald Kokes and Father Stanley Gorak were celebrants at the 10 am Mass. The Knights of Columbus attended as an honorary group. Interment was in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. Sylvester J. Shotkoski was born at Genoa, Dec. 10, 1911. He came to a farm near Ord with his parents, Frank and Anna (Dubas) Shotkoski, in 1918 and moved into Ord in 1937. He was married to Stella M. Zulkoski at Elyria, Jan. 14, 1941. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #2292 and a charter member of Ord Elks Lodge #2371. The past several years he had operated his own business, Syl's Motor and Gun, in Ord. Prior to this he worked several years as a mechanic. Survivors are his wife and mother of Ord; three daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Hettrick of Loveland, Colo., Jeanette of Denver, Colo., and Marlene at home; four brothers, Ray, Floyd and Ted all of Ord and Leonard of Omaha; four sisters, Mrs. Sally Kapustka of Ord, Mrs. Martha McBeth of Omaha, Mrs. Dorothy Micek of Elyria and Mrs. Alice Krolikowski of Loup City and two grandchildren.
