LADMAN, JOE JR.—Joe Ladman, son of Joseph and Antonia Horlivey Ladman, was born near Milligan, Neb., March 18, 1907, and passed away at the Fillmore County hospital in Geneva on Tuesday, July 29, 1975. Joe attended country school in Saline county and spent his entire life in Fillmore county. Joe started working as a young boy at the age of 14 and was employed in various occupations over his working life. He never was contented unless he was busy. At the time of his death, he was employed at the Fillmore county fair until he suffered a stroke on Sunday, July 27. He never regained consciousness and passed away two days later. In the year of 1937, he married Hazel Madison, and to this union was born a son, Everett. Hazel passed away in November of 1956. On April 30, 1963, he married Agnes Sramek. He is survived by his beloved wife Agnes; son, Everett, and daughter-in-law Linda; three grandchildren, Kevin, Brenda, and Kristi Ladman; his mother, Antonia Ladman; a step-daughter, Adelene Garrison, and husband Weldon; three step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harry of Geneva, Leo and Milo of Milligan; two sisters, Helen Burrier of York and Lilian of Milligan and a host of relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his wife Hazel and his father. Funeral services were conducted from the Farmer and Son funeral home in Geneva on Thursday, July 31, 1975, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Woodrow W. Wilson officiating. Soloist, Miss Susan Najmon, sang “Beyond the Sunset” and “In the Garden” accompanied by organist, Mrs. Willard foster. Pallbearers were Doyle Lade, Myron Carlson, Bernard Madison, Thomas B. Madison, Adolph Zumpfe and Ray Rempe. The Nebraska Signal August 7th, 1975 page 5.
