Final rites will be observed at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon for Mrs. Dick Huffaker, 66, well known Greenville woman who died at 11:20 o'clock Tuesday night at the fam – (sic) been confined to her bed for seven weeks. The funeral services will be held at Wesley Methodist church and burial will follow in East Mount cemetery. The Rev. Zimmercan (sic) of Jacobia, the Rev. Perry F. Evans, pastor of the First Baptist church, and the Rev. E.H. Mays, pastor of Wesley Methodist church will officiate. Pall bearers will be Allie Morgan, Robert Langford, Hardy McWhirter, Cloyd Dudding, Arthur Darby and Arthur Wallace. Barbara Voyles Huffaker was born on March 26, 1869 in the Shady Grove community in this county and was reared in that community. On November 21, 1889 she was married to Dick Huffaker in Greenville and they had since resided in the Jacobia community and this city. In early life Mrs. Huffaker professed religious faith and united with the Baptist church. For many years she had been a member of the Jones-Bethel Baptist church and lived true to its tenets. She was a true Christian woman and in her quiet and unassuming way rendered a great service for Christianity. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and had greatly aided that organization in its programs. Mrs. Huffaker was a devoted wife and mother and was always thoughtful of her loved ones. She was a true friend to all who knew her and her death will be mourned by many friends who will always remember her as a remarkable woman. Surviving are her husband, Dick Huffaker and eigth (ic) children, Erve Huffaker of Whiteboro, Mrs. Carl Kimberlin of Dallas, Mrs. Fred Haney of Greenville, Vernon Huffaker of Shreveport, Grady Huffaker of Greenville, Mrs. Marvin White of Fort Worth, Mrs. Alvin Bowman of Lone Oak and Miss Romor Huffaker of Greenville. A son, Joe Huffaker, preceded her in death on November 9, 1930, and a daughter, Maurine Huffaker, died in infancy. Ten grandchildren also survive.
