''''''''''''''''''' Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), February 13, 1936, p. 1, col. 3 DEATH FROM EXERTION. PASSING OF A. F. OBORIL. Died While Trying to Rescue Colt from Deep Snow Drift. Anton F. Oboril, farmer living near Garrison, died shortly before noon Sunday, Feb. 9, presumably from heart failure resulting from over-exertion in trying to rescue a colt from a deep snow drift. Mrs. Oboril had gone out with her husband to help him and also became quite exhausted and unable to get out of the drift and back to the house, but was seen by neighbors passing by who stopped and aided her. Mr. Oboril was 64 years of age. He was born December 3, 1872, in Caslav, Czechoslovakia, a son of John and Catherine Oboril, they coming to the United States when he was six months of age. He resided in Abie vicinity until coming to David City in 1920. He was married in 1893 to Mary Vavrina. One son was born to them, mother and son dying at time of the babe's birth. A few years later Mr. Oboril was married to Winifred Komarek, and to them was born one daughter who survives, Mrs. Marie Styskal of David City. Mrs. Oboril died in David City June 3, 1924. Mr. Oboril was married in 1926 to Barbara Wachter, who survives him. He also leaves two granddaughters, daughters of Mrs. Styskal. He was the last of his immediate family. Funeral services were held at 9:30 o'clock Wednesday morning at St. Mary's Catholic church, David City, of which church Mr. Oboril was a member. Rev. William Murphy conducted the services. The pallbearers were Albert Bongers, E. J. Dworak, Cyril Humlicek, John Lanspa, Jerry Shonka and Martin Theewen. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic cemetery at David City. Mrs. Oboril's son, John Wachter, who has been in CCC camp at Gering for the past year, arrived Tuesday morning to attend the funeral and to be with his mother in her hour of need. ____ Card of Thanks - We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to all those who assisted us in our time of sorrow, also for the floral offerings and spiritual bouquets.
