Bio

From the book, "Before Memories Fade" by Alfred EVANS, editor: Victor T. RIPLEY, Army, enrolled 1942 in McCulloch County, Texas, Tec 4, in the Pacific Theater of Operations. Discharged in 1945. Serial #38134514. According to on-line records from the National Archives World War II enlistments, Travis was living in Comanche, Texas and enlisted in Abilene, Texas 17 July 1942. The records show he was a White citizen of Texas, completed grammar school, he was single without dependents, and his occupation was a Monotype Operator. Ht. 71 (5ft. 9in.), Wt. 156. Travis married to Monnie Ruth Butler 10 March 1947 in Brady, Texas. They were divorced in 1974.
