Bio

Truman was first married to Ila Ellen Goolsby in Galveston, Texas on 03 July 1942. Following her death in 1974, Truman married Helen Holmes 11 February 1977 in Erath County, Texas. They divorced in 1978. From the "Comanche Chief" newspaper, dated 15 March 1979: "Truman Howard Ripley, 61, of Dublin, died early Saturday morning, March 10th in the Stephenville Hospital after a short illness. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday March 12th in the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Leroy Woolsey officiated. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were James Blue, David Robinson, Allan Ripley, A.L Humphrey, John Ripley, and John Robinson. He was born May 2, 1917, in Comanche County, the son of the late Isaac Paul and Laura Rebecca Ripley. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Baptist Church. Mr Ripley married Ila Ellen Goolsby on July 3, 1942 in Galveston. She died September 26, 1974. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Rogers of Zephyr and Mrs. Marie Garner of Wheeler; 1 brother Travis Ripley of Comanche; and several nieces and nephews.
