Bio

Laura was married first to George W. Allison (04 Dec. 1892). They had daughter Ona Allison. Laura divorced George in February 1897 (Comanche County, Texas) due to abandonment. It is unknown at this time what became of Mr. Allison following the divorce. She married second to Allen T. Withers (05 Feb. 1897). They had daughter Mattie Mae (Sis) Withers. Allen died in 1904. Laura's final marriage was to Isaac Paul Ripley on 15 July 1909 in Comanche County. They had 5 children. From the Comanche Chief newspaper , dated 02 March 1972: Laura Ripley Passes Away Laura Rebecca Ripley, 95, died Tuesday, Feb. 29 at 9:55 a.m. in a local hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Mar. 2, in Oak Lawn Funeral Chapel with Rev. E.H. Fielding officiating. Mrs. Ripley was born Sept. 1, 1876 in Comanche County to George W. and Mattie Magdelene Williams. She married Ike Ripley July 15, 1909 in Comanche County. He died Feb. 16, 1964. Mrs. Ripley was a life long resident of Comanche and a member of the Baptist church. She is survived by: four daughters, Mrs. Mattie Johnson, Odessa, Mrs. Ona Medcalf of Aspermont, Mrs. Marie Garner, Pampa, and Mrs. Nettie Rogers, Comanche; three sons, Travis and T.H. Ripley, Comanche, and Milton Ripley of Odessa; sister Mrs. Mae Biggs of Arkansas; 19 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
