Lamar Daily News page 1 Lamar, Prowers, Colorado Dec 27, 1954 Holly Woman Dies Following Stroke: Services Wednesday Funeral services for Altia Louise Mathis, 58, 443 W. Pawnee, Holly, will be held from the Nazarene Church in Holly, Wednesday at 2 pm. Reverend Harold Pearson will officiate, and burial will follow at Holly Cemetery. Morich Funeral Home in Holly is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Mathis died at her home Sunday morning after suffering a stroke Christmas night. She and her family had lived in the Holly community about 26 years. She was born in Chautauqua County, Kan. Mrs. Mathis is survived by her husband, John H., of the family home; five daughters, Mrs. Viola Flint, Mrs. Loetta Cline, and Mrs. Lula Watson, all of Holly; Mrs. Myrtle McCade of Amarillo, Tex., and Mrs. Audrey Albert of Fort Morgan; three sons, Ernest of Holly, Marion of Lamar, and Floyd of North Ridge, Calif,; one sister, Mrs. Rose Bryan, of Perryton, Tex.; and one brother, [William] Henry Cooper of Beaver, Okla.
