Bio

Enlisted as a Sergeant (5-12-1862 at Homer). "D" Co. TX 22nd Infantry Enlisted as Sergeant (3-1-1862 at Crockett, Houston County, Texas. Co. F 13th Texas Cavalry. Cyrus Ivy was born 11 Dec 1814 in Walton County, Georgia. He married Susan Ellington on 29 Oct 1839. They had four sons, James Sanford, Jesse Elliott, Jameson Wiggins (Tobe) and John Allen Ivy. Their first born was a daughter, Frances Ivy. He and his second wife, Mary Alice White, had four children, Susanna, Permelia Jane, William Joshua, Jefferson Davis Ivy. Cyrus was the son of Jeremiah and Permelia (Milly) Shockley Ivy. Cyrus Ivy enlisted in Co. F, 13 Texas Cavalry with son, James Sanford Ivy. Enlisted in Co. D, 22 Texas Infantry with sons, James Sanford Ivy and Jesse Elliott Ivy. He died 5 June 1890 in Angelina County, Texas and is buried in a small cemetery known as Ivy Cemetery near Huntington, Texas.
