Bio

Rose Wieck Spitler, daughter of Franz and Anna Hargens Wieck was born March 6, 1914 in Grand Island, Neb., and died February 10, 1970 in the Republic County Hospital at the age of 55 years, 11 months and 4 days. In 1940 she was united in marriage to Martin Brett and they had a daughter Judy. In 1949 she married to Ray Spitler. They had a son Howard. For the past thirty years she made her home in Courtland, Scandia and Belleville areas. Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister and two brothers. Survivors are: her daughter, Mrs. Judith K. Briles and husband, Max, granddaughter, Leann of Winfield; her son, Howard of Belleville; stepson, Ronnie Spitler of Hutchinson; four sisters, Mrs. Albert Kostlan, Mrs. Paul Willis, Mrs. Ivan Bottorff, Mrs. Alma Pearson, all of Grand Island; one brother, Alfred of Grand Island. Interment was in the Grand Island cemetery.
