(Quoted the article in the Humbolt Standard; Eureka, California dated June 14, 1956 Mrs. Iris Bounds, age 24 of Route 2 Arcata. died Tuesday in an Arcata Hospital. she was born April 11, 1932 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma and had lived in this area five years. Survivors include her husband, Delbert Bounds; a son, John Bounds, three daughters, infant Bounds, Deborah Bounds, and Elizabeth Bounds; her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Rea of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; three brothers, Raymond Rea of Eureka; Elton Rea of Houston, Tex., and L.C. Rea of Naval Air Force; two sisters, Mrs. Dalton Gordon of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. Robert Garrett of Hope, Arkansas. The remains will be sent to Ida Bel, Oklahoma for services and interment. Local arrangements are under the direction of Field Mortuary, Chapel of the Redwoods. (According to her obituary and dated details; Iris died in or after childbirth on 12 Jun 1956 and not in 1957 as the headstone states. The infant was a daughter who was named Iris Ann bounds born 12 Jun 1956 (California Birth Index). Elizabeth Ione Bounds was also born in California on 18 Oct 1952. (California Birth Index)
