Born in the village of Litostrov, town of Hrotovice, county of Znojmo, Moravia, Austrian Empire (now in the Czech Republic). Married (1) Anna Suchy (daughters Mary Pribyl's and Josephine Foral's death certificates). Married (2) Anna Hejmala (son Joseph's marriage record). Married (3) Anna Bochnicek. Emigrated to the United States with his second wife and children in 1881. According to the 1885 census he was a farmer in Platte Township, Butler County, Nebr., 62 years old, born Bohemia. His probate file states he died at his home in Linwood township, Butler County on October 14, 1891 and was survived by his wife Anna and eight children: John, Frantiska, Kristina, Frantisek, Josefka, Anna, Mary, and Josef. His heirs as of March 24, 1893 were his widow Anna and children John, age 21 years; Frantiska, 15 years; Kristina, 11; and Frantisek 12, all of Linwood; Josefka, 30, of Moravia, Europe; Anna, 26, of Hemingford, Nebr.; Mary, 36, of Petersburg, Va.; and Joseph, 28, of Linwood.
