Herald Coaster, March 20, 2005: Funeral services for Raymond Novak, age 67, of Damon, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2005 at the Garmany & Carden Funeral Chapel in Needville with Rev. Greg Garcia officiating. Burial will follow in the Yelderman Memorial Cemetery in Damon. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, March 20, 2005 at Garmany & Carden Funeral Chapel. Mr. Novak died Thursday, March 17, 2005 at his home. He was born Nov. 14, 1937 in El Campo. He worked in oil fields for W.C. Martin as a gauger for most of his career. His wife, Helen Marie Novak, preceded him in death, along with his parents, Frank and Angeline Novak; brother, Herman Novak; sisters: Vlasta Yackel and Annie Pewitz; grandson Michael Alan Novak Jr.; and great grandchild, Jamie Jerard Hanzik. He is survived by his children: Cindy Hedt and husband, Ray, of Boling, Michael "Red" Novak, Sr. and wife, Kelly, of Damon, Sandra Novak of Boling; grandchildren: Melissa "Mullet" Vega and husband, Pete Jr., Dawnette Johnson, Talishia "George" and Jamie Hanzik, Raymond "Tank" and Stephanie Novak, Timothy Graham, Sierra "CiCi" Hedt, and Ashlynn Hedt all of Damon, Angel Enriquez and Eli "Bubba" Enriquez of Boling, Katherine "Wrinkle Butt" Novak of Damon and Jamie and Bianca Gonzales of Needville; great grandchildren: Kylie Vega, Kyndal Vega of Damon, David Novak and Anthony Nation of Bastrop, Raymond "Tank Jr." Novak of Damon, Johnathan and Zoe Gonzales of Needville; siblings: Albert, Frankie and wife, Janett, Bennie and wife, Barbara, of El Campo, several nieces and nephews, friends and other relatives. Serving as pallbearers will be Scottie Hooten, Danny Novak, A.J. Novak, James Novak, Willie Prihoda, Don Johnson, Turk Johnson and Mingo Vega. Honorary pallbearers will be Ruben Wleczyk, Larry Hanzik, Larry Efurd, Alan Kaliszeski, Fidel Contreas and Junior Vega. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
