Abie, Feb. 8 - Miss Bessie Svoboda, aged 17 years, died at the home of sister, Mrs. Charles Palensky, Sunday, Feb. 5, after an illness of two weeks with scarlet fever. Open air funeral services were conducted Tuesday by Rev. Father Mlejnek. Burial was in the Abie Catholic cemetery. Bessie's mother, Mrs. Peter Svoboda, died six years ago. Bessie is survived by her father and stepmother and by three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Vincent Shimerka, Mrs. Charles Palensky, Agnes Svoboda and Raymond, James and Edward Svoboda.
