Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), November 14, 1918, p. 2, col. 2 Killed in Auto Accident. Abie, Nov. 12 - William Polacek, son of Mrs. John Polacek met death in an automobile accident about 10 o'clock Sunday night, Nov. 10, when the car in which he was riding turned turtle. In the car with him were Anna and Mary Polacek, Lillie Slossar and James Slossar. Anna Polacek had her collar bone broken. The other occupants of the car escaped injury. The accident occurred about a mile north of Abie. Funeral services for William Polacek were held on Wednesday, Nov. 13, Rev. Father Kopecky conducting the services. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery at Abie. William was a member of the young Catholic Christian Society of Abie. He is survived by his mother and four brothers and five sisters. The brothers are John, Edward, James and Joseph Polacek and the sisters are Mrs. Louis Brecka, Mrs. Martin Styskal, Mrs. John Tomek and Misses Mary and Anna Polacek.
