Obituary Gonzales Inquirer July 27, 1944 L. B. Hunter died suddenly Thursday afternoon about 8:00 o'clock, July 13th. Attending physician pronounced the sudden death as due to a heart attack. Lonnie Boone Hunter, life resident of Gonzales county was born May 29, 1889 and died July 13, 1944 at the age of 55. He was married to Mary Pettit, December 17, 1913. Survivors are his wife, four sons, three of which are overseas; Gunners Mate Marcella's B. In South Pacific, Cpl. Delbert in France, T. Sgt. Cecil E. in Italy and a baby brother, Jolly B.; three daughters; Mrs. J. E. Hendershot of Luling and Mrs. Vance Glover and Miss Daisy Hunter of Kerrville. None of his sons in the service were able to be present. His sisters and brothers that were present are; Mrs. A. R. Mass of Yoakum, Mrs, Grace Howard of Dallas, Mrs, Emilie Gardner of Ft. Worth, W. R. Hunter in the service in South Carolina. Funeral services were held at the Saturn Cemetery at 5:00 p.m, Saturday, July 15. Pallbearers were; W.W. Kennedy, John Helms, G. C. Johnson, Ray Barnett, Bill Buchanan and George McVea. His son Cpl. Arthur U. Hunter was killed in action in the Italian campaign on September 9, 1943.
