Bio

Rev. Jerry L. Griffin, SR. The Rev. Jerry Lee Griffin went home to be with the Lord on May 6, 1999, while attending the Southern Gospel Music convention in Fresno. Chapel services will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. in the Hillcrest Memorial Chapel. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, May 11, 1999 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Jerry was born in Clebit, Okla. on May 25, 1943, and had resided in Kern County for 22 years. He started his education at James Monroe Elementary and graduated from Sherman E. Burroughs High School in Ridgecrest, Calif. class of 1961. Jerry was an ordained minister spreading God's word for over 30 years. He was also the owner of Griffin Transportation for over 20 years. Jerry is survived by his loving wife Gana Griffin, his former spouse Shirley Griffin, seven children and their spouses, Janice Johnson and Randy; Vernon Griffin and LeeAnn; Jerry Griffin and Dorita; Anna Bradford and Randy; Shirley Valverde and Rudolf; Bryan Smith and Traci; Joel Smith and Pamela; 14 grandchildren; Valarie, Niki, Heather, Michael, Nathan, Kaitlin, Emily, Amanda, Sarah, Joshua, Cody, Amy, Miranda, Joel Jr., Jerry's parents Leroy and Louise Griffin, two brothers, Larry Griffin ahd his wife Shyrrell; Charles Griffin and his wife Donna; one sister Joyce Cole and her husband Billy and numerous niees and nephews.
