Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), February 9, 1922, p. 1, col. 6 Death of Bruce Haney. Rising City, Feb. 7 - Bruce Edward Haney, only son of Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Haney, passed away at the home of his parents, four miles north of Rising City, on Saturday, Feb. 4. He had been in poor health for four years and some six weeks ago developed diabetes, which caused his death. Had he lived 16 days longer he would have been 15 years old. He finished the Eighth grade in school last spring, but on account of poor health was unable to attend high school. He was of a kind and loving disposition and was loved by everyone who knew him. During all of his illness he never complained, and when asked how he felt the answer was always "feeling fine." He leaves his parents and tow sisters, Wauneta and Grace. Funeral services were held in St. Mary's Catholic church, David City, at 10 o'clock Monday morning, Feb. 6. Mass was sung by Rev. Bernard Sproll, assisted by St. Mary's school choir. The pallbeares were Charles Branigan, Marvin Haney, George Haney, Everett Haney, Merle Morgan and Elmer Selden. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Stryker, Bruce's uncle and aunt of Callaway, attended the funeral. __________ Card of Thanks - We wish to extend our thanks to our friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us during our bereavement. Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Haney and Children.
