DAVID CITY -- Mildred Kovar, 86, of David City, died Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, at the Butler County Health Care Center in David City. Services are 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City with the Monsignor Adrian Herbek officiating. Burial will be at Appleton Assumption in rural David City. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-6:30 p.m. today at Knott Funeral Home in David City. There will be a wake, followed by PCCW rosary service at 7:30 p.m. today at the church. Mrs. Kovar was born Sept. 15, 1915, at David City to Frank and Antonia (Fendrich) Cemper. She married Marcel F. Kovar on Feb. 7, 1933. She was a member of the church and PCCW. Survivors include four sons, Jerome (Geraldine) Kovar, Marcel W. (Arlene) Kovar and Kenneth (Nancy) Kovar, all of David City, and Arthur (Constance) Kovar of Portland, Ore.; three daughters, Anna (Tony) Bouc of Valparaiso, Betty (Jerry) Ronkar of Columbus and Agnes (Stanley "Butch") Kracl of Schuyler; 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1988; three brothers, Tony Fendrich, Frank Fendrich and Ed Fendrich and two sisters, Mary Kovar and Alice Svoboda. Memorials may be directed to Aquinas High School, Hruska Library, Guardian Angel, and St. Mary's School.
