Born in the village of Litovany, town of Hrotovice, county of Caslav, Bohemia, Austrian Empire (now in Czechia). '''''''''''''''''''''''''''' Seward Indepdendent-Democrat (Seward, Nebr.), February 23, 1933, p. 5, col. 5 CARD OF THANKS We wish to express our thank and sincere appreciation to our friends for their many kindnesses shown us during our recent bereavement of our husband and father. Mrs. John Stoupa and children, Mary, John, Emma and Frank. '''''''''''''' The Register (Denver, Colo.), Southern Nebraska ed., February 26, 1933, p. 3, col. 2 REQUIESCANT IN PACE STOUPA, JOHN – Funeral services for John Stoupa were held Thursday morning, February 16, at St. Wenceslaus' church, Bee, the Rev. A. A. Huebach, Ph.D., officiating. Burial was in Seward [sic]. Mr. Stoupa passed away in the family home at Bee on Tuesday, February 14, after a protracted and painful illness of cancer of the throat. He was born 74 years ago in Czechoslovakia and lived in the United States the past 44 years of his life. After coming to Omaha, he soon settled down at Plasi, whence he moved in succession to Bruno, Brainard and Dwight, and retired from farm work in 1929 to make his home at Bee, which he liked beyond all other Czech settlements in the neighborhood. Only two years ago he celebrated his golden wedding anniversary with his wife, who mourns him with the four of their surviving children, Frank Stoupa of York, John Stoupa of Loma, Mrs. Vaclav Anderle and Mrs Joseph Hraban of Dwight. There is one brother, Vaclav, living in the Loma community.
