Pavel were conducted Friday afternoon, March 20, from Dwight Assumption Catholic Church. Pavel, 82, died March 18 at the Village Manor Nursing Home in Lincoln. Frank J. Pavel, the son of Vaclav and Anna Novak Pavel, was born April 2, 1909, near Dwight. He was raised on a farm near Dwight and attended country grade school. He was united in marriage to Martha Navratil on Oct. 8, 1929, at St. Wenceslaus Church in Bee. Three children were born to this union. The couple was engaged in farming and lived all of their married life on a farm near Dwight. Following the death of his wife, Martha, in 1950, he made his home in David City for a few years and since 1978 he was a resident of Lincoln. A retired farmer, he was a member of Dwight Assumption Catholic Church. He leaves a son, Jerome F. of Lincoln, a son and daughter-in-law, Francis B. and Joan Pavel of Waverly; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Val Makovicka of Ulysses; a brother, Joe Pavel of Staplehurst; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His parents, wife, Martha; a brother James; a brother, Alois, who died in infancy; a sister, Mrs. Adolph (Rose) Kobza and a grandson, Michael Makovicka preceded him in death.
