'''''''''''''''''''''' The Brainard Clipper (Brainard, Nebr.), January 10, 1935, p. 1, col. 4 LUDVIK LAVICKY OF DWIGHT DIED MONDAY Ludvik Lavicky, 57, died at his home near Dwight at 12:50 P.M. Monday, following a stroke of apoplexy the previous evening. Mr. Lavicky had been in Dwight on Sunday afternoon and had started home afoot when he was stricken. A neighbor, driving by a short time later, discovered him lying in the road unconscious and took him home where he passed away the following day without having regained consciousness. Funeral services were held from Assumption Catholic church, Dwight, on Wednesday morning. ''''''''''''''''''''''' The Brainard Clipper , January 17, 1935, p. 1, col. 2 LUDVIK LAVICKY OBITUARY Ludvik Lavicky was born August 12, 1876 at Vodonec, Czechoslovakia and died at his home near Dwight at the age of 58 years, 4 months 7 days. He came to America at the age of 17, worked for several months in the vicinity of Prague then came to the Dwight community where he resided throughout the remainder of his life, a period of forty-two years. On June 15, 1903 he was united in marriage to Miss Stazie Hotovy to which union was born seven children John of Garrison, Frank of Dwight, Ludvik, Victor, Martha and Lillian living at home. A daughter, Mary, died in infancy. For the past twenty-five years Mr. and Mrs. Lavicky have resided on their home farm three and one-half miles north-west of Dwight. Besides his wife and seven children Mr. Lavicky is survived by his mother who resides at Bee, by two brothers, Frank of Walnut Grove, Minn., and Theodore of Bee; one sisters, Mrs. Joseph Walla of of Scapoose, Oregon, two grandchildren and a large number of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Dwight, on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 10 o'clock. Rev. Father Bauer conducted the services, and two brothers of the deceased, Frank and Theodore Lavicky, and four brothers-in-law, Joe, Ludvik and Mike Hotovy and Joe Dobesh, were the pall-bearers. Interment was in the Dwight Catholic Cemetery. Members of the Knights of Columbus, Catholic Workmen and Holy Name Society of which Mr. Lavicky was a member, attended the services in a body. Relatives from a distance coming for the funeral were Frank Lavicky of Walnut Grove, Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. Matt Mazor of Deweese, Nebr. ___ Card of Thanks We wish to extend our sincere gratitude to all who assisted us at the time of illness and death of our beloved husband and father.
