''''''''''''''''''' Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), February 5, 1901, p. 2, col. 6 BRAINARD CLIPPER John Lavicky died at his home, near Dwight, last Saturday morning of cancer of the stomach. Mr. Lavicky had been a resident of this country for about seven years, having always been engaged in farming. He was a good citizen, a kind and loving father, and will be mourned by his immediate family as well as by a large circle of friends. At the time of his death he was sixty years of age. He was a member of the Catholic Workmen and carried $2,000 insurance. His family consists of a wife, three sons and one daughter, and to them, in their hour of sorrow, is extended the sympathy of this entire community. The funeral was held Monday morning from Holy Trinity church, services by Rev. Father Klein. Interment was at the Catholic cemetery whither the remains were escorted by the Catholic lodge, followed by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends.
