Waterloo Daily Courier, Waterloo, Iowa, Monday, 16 May 1949, Page 7, Column 4: ----------------- Iowa Falls--Mrs. Lottie Bates, 86, Saturday in a hospital at Rockwell; born Oct. 12, 1863, at Noblesville, Ind., daughter of John and Rebecca Jessup; resident of the Iowa Falls vicinity 50 years and last three years lived at Dougherty; leaves four daughters, Mrs. Myrtie Humphrey and Mrs. Charles Stowe, both of Iowa Falls; Mrs. Ross Moore, Rock Falls, and Mrs. W. C. Jessup, Dougherty; one son, Morris, Iowa Falls; 28 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren; three brothers, Will, Sheridan, Ind.; Marvin, Noblesville, Ind.; and Fred, Cicero, Ind.; husband, James S. Bates, died several years ago.
