He was the son of Abraham Brown and Atta Austin. Abraham married Harriet Amanda Sheldon on 26 Mar 1834 in Vermont and they had 7 known children: Harriet Amanda, Newell Abraham, Byron Welman, Austin Milton, Orin Clinton, Helen Genet and Leveret Wesley.
