At the age of 24 Byron married Sarah Stoddart on 8 Dec 1863 in Lehi, Utah. They were the parents of 4 known children: Eunice Janette, Byron Welman, Jr., William Wesley and Jaroam Milton. After Sarah's death Byron married Josephine Clark on 10 Mar 1875 in Washington, Utah. They were the parents of 6 known children: Evaline Phebe, Marion Abram, Fernando Clark, Ida Melvina, Josephine and Sarah Ellen.
