Herald Coaster, June 1, 1995: Wilma Marie Schunka, 67, of Boling, passed away Wednesday, May 31, at a local hospital after an extended illness. She was born Sept. 28, 1927 in Wallis to Anton and Annie Jurek Orsak. She moved to Wharton County in 1933. Mrs. Schunka married Frank Schunka in Boling on Aug. 22, 1944. She has been a resident of Boling since 1964. She was a housewife and a Catholic by faith. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 1, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of the Wharton Funeral Home, with Father Johnson Owusu-Boateng officiating. Burial followed in the Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include her husband, Frank Schunka of Boling; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jody Rolf of Boling; sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Peggy Schunka of Richmond and Mark Schunka of Boling; brother, Eugene Orsak of Wharton; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, David Schunka on Sept. 28, 1969; a sister, Georgia Tomanek; and two brothers, Calvin and Lonnie Orsak. Pallbearers were Pete Bennetsen, A.J. Bennetsen, Albert Kocurek, Clifford Honc, Larry David, and Alvin Rolf. Honorary pallbearer was Olan Meador. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
