Son of James and Katie (Pocovsky) Houska. Married Anna Mares on April 22, 1884 at SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Plasi, Nebr. Stepson of Vaclav Kadlecek (#98576575). '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), February 19, 1931, p. 1, col. 6 DEATH OF FRANK HOUSKA He Passed Away at His Home in Dwight Thursday, Feb. 12 Dwight, Feb. 17 – Frank Houska, resident of Butler county for a number of years, died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, at his home in Dwight, after illness of some 14 months with complications due to old age. He was 70 years old. Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic church in Dwight at 10:30 o'clock Saturday morning, Feb. 14, conducted by Rev. Alois Horacek and Rt. Rev. Msgr. Alois Klein. Singing was by the church choir. The pall bearers were John Brym, James Mares, James and John Kadlecek, Raymond Kudlacek and Joe Novak, Jr. Burial was in the Dwight Catholic cemetery. Mr. Houska was born in Czechoslovakia and came to the United States at the age of five years. He was married at Plasi to Anna Mares 47 years ago. They moved to Butler county 38 years ago and Mr. Houska was engaged in farming until retiring from active life. Surviving Mr. Houska are his wife and two children, Frank Houska, Jr., of Seward and Mrs. J. A. Novak of Garrison, an only sister, Mrs. Marie Turek of Omaha, and three half-brothers, John, James and Fred Kadlecek, of Dwight. Mr. Houska was a member of the Catholic church, the Modern Woodmen of America and the Catholic Workmen. ____ Card of Thanks – We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who so kindly assisted us during the illness and at time of death our beloved husband and father, also for floral offerings and spiritual boquets.
