The Banner-Press (David City, Nebraska) 14 Sep 2000, Thu Page 24 George Hotovy George S. Hotovy, 84, of Lincoln, formerly of Dwight, died Monday, Sept. 4, 2000, in Lincoln. Mr. Hotovy was born Feb. 22, 1916, at Dwight to Cyril and Julia (Makes) Hotovy. He was a 1934 graduate of Assumption High School in Dwight and graduated in 1939 from St. Procopius College in Lisle, Ill. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Lucile Benita Pleskac Jan. 19, 1943, at Sacred Heart Church in Salina, Kan. They lived in Lincoln from 1946-58 when they moved to Dwight where he farmed. In July 2000 they moved to Lincoln. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Dwight, Catholic Workman, Knights of Columbus, and American Legion Post 110 in Dwight. He leaves his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Marguerite of Omah and Mike and Louis of Walkersville, Md.; one daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Don Wickert of Omaha; 13 grandchildren; and one bother, John B. of Dwight. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary Novotny and Blanche. Services were held Friday, Sept. 8 at Assumption Catholic Church with Father Loras Grell officiating. Burial was at the parish cemetery with graveside military honors by the American Legion Post 110. Arrangements were made by Wood-Zabka Funeral Home of Seward.
