James B. Spraberry OAK RIDGE, TENN. — James B. Spraberry, 66, died Saturday, June 30, 2012, in Oliver Springs, Tenn. Private burial services were held July 9 at the Oak Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Glenn Ellis of Central Baptist Church in Oak Ridge officiating. Weatherford Mortuary Inc. of Oak Ridge was in charge of arrangements. Born in Meridian, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oxford. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1964 and received degrees from the University of Mississippi and Mississippi State University. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army for two years and in the Tennessee National Guard for 17 years. He was formerly employed with Union Carbide Nuclear Division in Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Nuclear Fuel Services in Erwin, Tenn. He had a passion for music and played several instruments. For nine years, he played the fiddle in a blue grass band in Oak Ridge, was an accomplished clogger, and won numerous local and state titles in team, single and pair competitions. Survivors, include his sister, Nancy S. Hanna of Macon, Ga. Published in the Oxford Eagle August 7, 2012.
