Bio

Mary Lou Leymaster, the daughter of Burt and Fay (Nelson) Juett, was born in rural Giltner, Nebraska on January 23, 1933 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on September 23, 2004, at the age of 71. She grew up in the Giltner, Murphy and Phillips area in Hamilton County. Mary Lou attended Phillips High School, however, completed her GED in 1971. On October 22, 1949, she was united in marriage to Boyd Leymaster at Grand Island. They resided in Grand Island, Phillips, and then on a farm near Phillips. After retiring from farming, they moved to Aurora. Mary Lou worked for three years at Ellis' in the card and gift area. Mary Lou was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the women's circle. When living in Phillips she taught Bible School there for several years. Mary Lou belonged to the Spinning Guild, for several years, where she enjoyed spinning and weaving. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and playing with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Wilbur Juett; two sisters, Darlene Loftus and Loretta Ballard and a grandson, Tracy Cunningham. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Boyd of Aurora; three children, Wanda (Victor) Kennel of Gilmer, Texas, Gregory Leymaster of Florida and Lois (Charles) Hafer of Hastings; 5 grandchildren, Julie (Phillip) Clark of Gilmer, Texas, Phillip Leymaster of Omaha, Jeremy Leymaster of Alda, Susan Hafer of Omaha and Jason (Carol) Hafer of Hastings; 3 step-grandchildren, Lance, Dawn and Pierre; 4 great-grandchildren, Macy, Hailey and Nicholas Clark of Gilmer, Texas and Hannah Hafer of Hastings and 3 step-greatgrandchildren, Nicolas, Joshua and Anna. She is also survived by two brothers, Lyle Juett of Grand Island and Bob Nelson of Sheridan, Wyoming and a sister, Sharon Marz of Luck, Wisconsin.
