Bio

Garnett B. Gilchrest, 61, of Crawford, died Saturday in a Temple hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Crawford First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Crawford Cemetery. Mr. Gilchrest was born Dec. 20, 1923, in Moody. He was retired from the construction business. He was a member of the Crawford First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Verdell; one daughter, Sheila Raynick of Pine Bluff, Ark.; two sons, Garnett W. Gilchrest, of Crawford, and Lonnie Gilchrest of New Orleans, La.; three sisters, Dorothy Isbill, of Temple, Velmairie Dyson, of Irving, and LaVeta Jones, of Angleton; and one brother, Darrell Gilchrest of Henderson; and three grandchildren. -from Waco Tribune-Herald, 12/1/85, 5B Son of Charlie Roy Gilchrest and Pearl Arlene Bailey
