Dorothy Lanelle Gilchrest Isbell, 86, of Temple passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton. Burial will follow in Temple Garden of Memories. Brother Rick Reed will be officiating. Dorothy was born on September 21, 1926 to Charley Roy and Arlena Pearl Bailey Gilchrest near Moody, Texas. She was a long time resident of Gatesville before moving to Temple in 1957. She married John Robert Isbell on April 10, 1947. John preceded her in death on October 7, 1995 after 48 years of marriage. She did ironing for the public and was a private sitter for the elderly. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, Robert Isbell and Ruth of Haltom City and Darrell Isbell and Mary of Madill. Ok; one daughter, Dorothy Evelyn Isbell of Temple; one sister, Carolyn Lovette Jones of Angleton, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Dorothy was the third of five children, the first of three girls. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Isbell; parents, Roy and Pearl Gilchrest; 2 brothers, Garnett Gilchrest and Darrell Gilchrest and one sister, Ovena Velmarie Dyson.
