The Wellington Leader January 21, 1993 Harold Burns, 66, of Midland died Sunday morning, January 17, 1993 in Stanton. He was born September 9, 1926 in Acme, the son of Rev. and Mrs. Thomas L. Burns. His father was a Baptist minister. Harold spent his early school years in Acme and the Panhandle area. He entered Wellington school system in the eighth grade and graduated from Wellington High School with the class of 1945. He was active in football and basketball during those years. He had spent considerable time preparing items and information to be put in the Class of 1945 show case in The Rocket House. He was a staunch backer of this project. He attended Oklahoma Baptist University and Baylor University. He moved to Hobbs, New Mexico where he started in the oil and gas wireline logging business. He moved to Midland in 1962, then to Odessa in 1969. He was the owner and operator of Profiles, Inc. from which he retired in 1985. He was a member of the Wilshire Park Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters: Kaye Smith of Midland; Jenny Lewis of Farmington, New Mexico and Rhonda DeMone of Abilene; a brother, A. E. Burns of Midland and three sisters, Lois Brenneman, Eura Lee Terry and Billie Kidwell, all of Amarillo; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
