Billie Ruth Kidwell, 75, of Amarillo died Friday, Feb. 27, 2009. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church chapel with Dr. Howard K. Batson, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Billie Ruth Burns was born Jan. 29, 1934, in Sweetwater to Tom and Laura Burns. She married Kenneth Kidwell on June 12, 1952, in Lela. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was owner and operator of Billie's Hair Design. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1974; a son, Wade Kidwell, in 2002; and two brothers, Estel Burns and Harold Burns. Survivors include two daughters, Gayle Henderson and husband Bill of Bella Vista, Ark., and Carole Kidwell of Dallas; a son, Paul Kidwell and wife Sally of China; two sisters, Lois Brenneman and husband Rex and Eura Lee Terry and husband Glen, all of Amarillo; and two grandchildren, Miles Henderson and Sophia Ruth Kidwell. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 5796 Shelby Oaks Drive, No. 6, Memphis, TN 38134; or Alzheimer's Association, Star Chapter, Amarillo Region, 415 W.
