Wellington Leader July 4, 1996 The Rev. Arvy Estel Burns 71, died Friday, June 7, 1996. Rev. Burns was born in Acme. He graduated from Wellington High School and attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, OK. He married Kathleen Sweeney in 1946 at Thomas, OK. For 42 years he pastored many Baptist churches in Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico. His father also pastored several Baptist churches in the area including Loco Baptist Church. He moved to Midland in 1989. He was currently the outreach minister of Cuthbert Avenue Baptist Church. He was a former senior adult minister and interim pastor of Wilshire Park Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Byron Burns of Houston, and Bobby burns and David Burns, both of Midland; a daughter, Patricia Burns of Houston
