Married Asa French, about 1850. Mother of Laura, Kate, and Charlie French. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Mrs. Kate French Waelder, Tex., July 9, - Died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. J. S. Fritzsimmons, at this place, yesterday evening at 7:30 o'clock, Mrs. Kate French, aged 87 years, lacking only a few days. Deceased came to Texas in 1853 and located near Prairie Lea, in Caldwell county, afterward moving to Thompsonville, in Gonzales county, 1873, at which place she has since resided. Three children survive her, two daughters and one son, Mrs. Laura McVea, Mrs. J. S. Fritzsimmons and C. A. French. (Gonzales, Texas Inquirer, Thursday, 14 July 1910). Courtesy of Cindy S. Munson.
