Bio

Elijah "Lige" Lafayette DEAVER was born Mar 20, 1833 to Lewis Singleton DEAVER, Sr and Mary S. (Chandler) DEAVER, most likely in Haywood County, NC. He spent time during the late 1850s to late 1870s in GA and TN. During the Civil War, he served in the 62nd Mounted Infantry TN CSA. In 1877, he came from TN to TX with other Deaver families and settled in the Bell County area. He was first married to Lydia, who died in 1896, then Saphronia Stanfield. Lydia is buried at Little River - Wilson Valley Cemetery nearby.
